Fabulous

Posted: May 27, 2006 in mi vida loca

Some may find it boring, but not me! What the hell am I talking about? None other than the Da Vinci Code. Joined the bandwagon to watch the movie everyone has been raving about, The Da Vinci Code.

To tell you the truth, I was sceptical at first. I’ve been listening to various comments & movie critics so I had set up my mind that this will be another boring trip to the cinema. I was very certain that I’ll doze off once the movie starts. I guess I was wrong. It’s simply: gut wrenching, humourous at times & very serious movie. However, believe me, the director & producer as well as the fabulous actors & actresses managed to capture my attention.

Plus: my cousin had a jolly good time since she was drooling all over the moment she set her eyes on Adam Caruthers (sp). He was there doing some recording!

Ahh, this may be my last post for this month…Hasta La Vista…off to Cairo tomorrow evening. Won’t be able to blog there as I’ve a tight schedule.

p/s: Brana, you want a pyramid? I hope it’s not cursed. The Taj Mahal is. So don’t ever buy a miniature Taj Mahal. That’s what people say. Rumoured @ believed that it could lead to a broken marriage! (If you’re married lah)

Come on, get on with it!

I’m counting the days, one by one. In a few days time, I’ll be off to Cairo via Bangkok. Gosh, it’s a dream come true. I’ve never expected that I’ll set foot in the land of the Pharoahs. One of the Wonders of the World. Mom & dad have always wanted to visit Egypt while we were staying in Libya, however due to the good bad relationship between these two countries it was risky to travel by road. Infact dad was supposed to be posted to Cairo, Egypt but they needed him back home, it was time to return home after a wonderful 3 1/2 year stay in such a beautiful country although we went through so much hardship & redtapes. Well, that was life, a once in the lifetime experience.

I’ve 5 days to start packing my clothes etc. I haven’t decided what to bring besides the essential items such as toilettries, sunblock due to the hot sun, camera & vid. camera. I can dress however I like in Egypt but when in Saudi Arabia, we have to put on something which is unrevealing & figure hugging. So I’ll have to bring a lot of black. I’ve decided to bring an extra bag, well you know, I’m sure we will be doing some shopping there. So we will definitely fill it up with dates & figs.

Uhh…should I get henna done? I really want to. They’ve got very intricate design and applied on the palms and/or feet. I’ll think about it! Ohh these things get me excited, I can’t wait to leave!

I vote electric!

Thank God! Didn’t know a fresh new look would give me a new lease of life. I am a fan of women with very short hair. The spikier the better. Don’t you think so? Love the out of bed look & another reason for keeping it real short is I don’t need to use a comb just my fingers & style it however I like it!

It’s never out of style & it can be viewed as more elegant, chic & sophisticated. Don’t forget, sexy!

Civilizations, Ruins, Antiquities, Folklore, Dances & Music … culture, tradition, heritage … a book of knowledge, a journey of experience, a life of fulfilment.

Pictures snapped while beautiful memories recorded. Saved. Rewind when needed all up here in your memory box.

Indescribable.

Shared & appreciated for life is precious, money is secondary. Love is the feeling for not only you and me, but for all of us, around us, for what has moulded us into who we are.

What?! You are?!

What’s wrong with being single & loving it?! The moment people know you’re single they would start matchmaking you no matter if you (that’s me not the guy)like it or not. Oh come on, my parents don’t even care if I’m not married as long as I’m happy. So I wouldn’t allow other people to force me into liking someone I don’t. I’m just not interested. I’d rather it comes naturally.

People may claim that they’re worried to see you staying single while your age is catching up on you. Well, I would just tell them, firstly, there are too many gay men in this world that you couldn’t find a straight single men to be your one and only faithful life long partner. Secondly, you can’t determine if one is single or married? We live in a gender biased world. There is a MR, Miss & MRS. So you’d know if the lady is married or available but not for the men. They are always eligible. BULLSHIT! So, we women, wouldn’t want to be accused of snatching someone else’s husband right under the wives’ nose. Thirdly, I am independent. Do I need a man to change the lightbulb for me? Nope. I’m not a damsel in distress either. Do you want children? Yes. But you’re not married? Does that mean I can’t have children? Well you have to be married to a man to produce one? You could always adopt the the poor little thing. Too many children are being dumped into orphanage etc. Any more questions?

People have been doing all sorts of ways to matchmake or introduce you to their friends. The common one is through sending text messages. Thanks to the invention of the cellphone, sometimes I feel like throwing it into the a large body of water. Personally, I’ve had enough of playing the guessing game. It’s a waste of money & not worth the time. I may seem cold. But some guys are damn desperate. I’d just ignore the messages and/or the phone calls and pretend nothing happen. Eventually the person on the other side would loose interest! I hope, I pray to God he will.

Alamak!

After buying a white pants suit today, I began to have second thoughts. Do you think it’s appropriate to put on a white/beige pants suit for a wedding dinner reception since the bride & groom will be wearing something with cream & gold? My mom said it’s fine, as long as you aren’t putting something which is much more glamourous than the bride & groom. I haven’t bought the blouse to go with the piece. I thought of getting something black to match my pair of stilettos, purse & veil. Argh, tolong!! Kalau tak kena pakai jacket hitam, baju hitam, seluar putih should I put on black coat, black blouse & white pants!

My friends have the same opinion as my mom. White pants suit is fine. Reen will be wearing black & white as well, as she wants to look slimmer!

i got one something like this, minus the man

Narciso Rodriguez – the pants I bought aren’t that slim, they’re wide legged

Strenesse

It looks more like this except it’s by ZARA not WUNDERKIND

white top & black pants by Narciso Rodriguez

p/s I’m glad MoJo were eliminated from the race. I don’t care if the Hippies couldn’t win the mil as long as it’s not the frat boys!

Down Memory Lane

Posted: May 12, 2006 in memory lane

As I was browsing my photo album, I found a few pics taken during my 2nd year of Matriculation at the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, UM. They were taken during and after our performance held at the Experimental Theatre,UM for all to see FOC.It’s called the Pre-ESL Nite (the programme book is with me, as I was the one who designed, printed & published it.) and it was part of our study programme. 15% may not be much but our reputation would be at stake if we did not perform well as it was performed infront of everyone, the VC, Deans, Head of Depts, Lecturers, our seniors etc. basically anyone could just walk in & watch us act, sing, do the catwalk ala Fashion Avenue, sketch, choral speaking etc. It took us months (from the end of our 1st year – the beginning of our 2nd year) to prepare everything from scratch. It wasn’t easy but it was a lot of fun. We had the opportunity to watch our seniors handle their Pre-ESL Nite & learn the ropes from them, indirectly as both batches are not the best of friends!

ACAPEPENTO ala Acapella – YESTERDAY

I don’t have a pic of us acting in the Main Invention, I guess we must have looked so ugly that everyone was too frightened to snap pictures of us. We were dressed as men, mad scientists, evil advisors (am one of them, bald old man, that’s me!), king.

Ahh those were the days, matriculation life was fun. Students from other fields of studies ie Hayat, Fizikal, RPKJ & PRAC (Pre-Acc) were so envious of us. Why? Well, we didn’t really have to study except for Literature. We read books, novels etc. We didn’t really have to crack our brains like the others to make sure the formula is correct & our problems solved, everything is balanced, as for us, we make sure we had balanced meals! 😛

Undergrad life wasn’t that fun, all the methodologies to be learnt & applied, it’s the start of serious studying, no more acting & singing etc. I guess that’s when our creative juices start to run dry! ;P

However, I’m glad I went through all those years at UM, I’ve learnt to be more confident, less self-conscious. I used to have stage frights but I seem to be able to handle what ever fears I have faced these days. One thing I need to do – worry less. I hate anxiety attacks, I’ll have sleepless nights before the D-Day (I guess it’s normal)

I’ve watched her grow up, from a lil infant into a young adult & have shared secrets & exchanged hot gossips, went shopping & watched movies together. Well, in a few days time she’ll be off to N9 & start a new chapter, a new beginning – pre-u.

“Every morning is a fresh beginning. Every day is the world made new. Today is a new day. Today is my world made new. I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day. This moment–this day–is as good as any moment in all eternity. I shall make of this day–each moment of this day–a heaven on earth. This is my day of opportunity.” — Dan Custer

Which one?

I need to get a new pants suit @ a dress to wear … I don’t know which one to choose from. I need to get one before my friend’s wedding reception. I’m being very modern here, I’m planning to get a white pant suit @ white jacket.

I’m planning to get them from MANGO

Love the jacket, should I buy a long skirt or pants? I love B&W
