Tis the time for peace & forgiveness, celebrated by Muslims all over the world, due to time difference, we will be celebrating a day later, 31st Dec. On this auspicious day, we would normally begin by going to the masjid to perform our Eid prayers. Then, those who can afford would sacrifice domestic animals normally goat or cow & the meat is to be shared with the rest of the muslim community, including neighbours & the unfortunate. On this day too, we would pay a visit to our loved ones who had passed on, reciting the surah Ya’asin. The day continues by visiting relatives & friends. So, Eid Mubarak to all Muslims.
On a sad note: Saddam Hussein has been executed on the 30th of Dec. I am not a supporter of the late-Iraqi president, I believe that he should be given a fairer trial. Although, he may be cruel in his actions towards his people, a dictator to some, a hero to others but this is not the way a man should die especially on this day, Eid.
