This was taken in 98, the home we onced lived in was no longer standing and was replaced by high-rised buildings.
The building on the extreme right is now occupied by young professionals. Below is a photograph taken of the ground level of Ballston Metro (at the foreground) and Hecht’s Departmental Store in the background.
between these two, Bush & Kerry (former & future candidate for the presidency seat). It’s hilarious really. Below is an article taken from Yahoo! News.
A blazing row has erupted between Republicans and Democrats in the run-up to the American mid-term elections. George Bush’s administration has been trading insults with Senator John Kerry. The President accused his opponent of saying US troops in Iraq were stupid, while Mr Kerry called Mr Bush’s men hacks who were “willing to lie”.
The war of words came after Kerry told a group of students those who do not work at school “get stuck in Iraq”.
Mr Bush, campaigning in Georgia, said Kerry’s statement was “insulting” and “shameful”.
“The members of the United States military are plenty smart, and they are plenty brave, and the senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology,” he said.
Mr Kerry, who is considering another run for the White House in 2008, angrily fired back with a statement that called Republicans “assorted right-wing nut jobs”.
Obviously, I don’t agree with both, Kerry stating that those who don’t do well will end up in the army. Don’t know if he was misquoted here. But, there are a number of them with degrees in the service! Not all, but we can’t generalize here.
Bush, let’s not start, as there will be no end to it!
I don’t think so, and I hope not!

In the first picture, the building is situated close to the water (East River), the 2nd picture is a few streets @ avenue away from the UN building, a place I had lived for a month a few years back. However, the building (from the 1st picture) looks familiar, I think a friend of my aunt used to live there. Thankfully there were no other casualties but it was a great loss for both families of the Yankee pitcher & his instructor.
Piloting a plane in such close proximity is very risky, no wonder suggestions have been brought up to review NY flight path.

This is the map of where we used to live in the States back in ’79. Dad was pursuing his Masters degree at USDA. We stayed there for a year an a half. It was situated near the HECHTS Mall @ shopping centre. I did visit Arlington in 98 but the house was no longer there. They have built a new residential area. I took the Metro from my hotel, BEST WESTERN, DOWNTOWN CAPITOL HILL,to Balston Station which was within walking distance to the designated area.
